NHS Treatment and how it works

We understand that dental care can be costly, which is why we're pleased to offer NHS Children Dentistry services for eligible patients.

NHS treatment is available to everyone, but not all dental services are free. The cost of NHS dental treatment depends on the treatment needed and whether the patient is eligible for free dental care. Eligible patients include those who are under 18 years old, pregnant, or receiving certain benefits.

At our practice, we offer NHS Children Dentistry services, which means that we're committed to providing top-quality dental care to children under the NHS scheme.

If you're interested in learning more about our NHS Children Dentistry services or whether you're eligible for free dental care on the NHS, please don't hesitate to contact our team. We're here to answer any questions you may have and help you get the and your child the dental care that you need.

Our Child Smile Service

Our team of child dentists are committed to helping our young patients achieve and maintain healthy, beautiful smiles that will last well into adulthood.

We truly believe that by educating children on their oral health and installing good oral hygiene practices at an early age is key for creating happy, healthy smiles in later life. That's why we offer our Child Smile service, a preventative dental program designed specifically for children.

The Child Smile service is an initiative by the NHS to improve children's oral health by providing dental care, education, and preventative treatments to patients from birth-16 years. Our team of dental professionals is trained to provide a range of Child Smile services, including:

  • Dental examinations
  • Standard check-ups
  • Fluoride varnish treatments
  • Fissure sealants procedure to avoid caries
  • Brushing advice
  • Oral health advice.

The Child Smile program is designed to help prevent dental problems from developing by identifying any issues early on and providing the necessary treatment to solve those dental problems.

By participating in the Child Smile program, your child can benefit from regular check-ups and preventative treatments which are designed to help protect their teeth against decay. In addition, our dental professionals provide education and advice to help your child learn how to take care of their teeth at home.

Oral health advice for parents and children

Whilst we love helping both our adult and child patients improve their oral health through restorative treatments and oral health advice, it’s true to say that good oral health starts at home.

That's why we're committed to providing parents with the information and resources they need to help their children achieve and maintain a healthy and happy smile.

Here are some tips and advice on how parents can help their children maintain good oral health:

  • Brushing and flossing techniques: Encourage your child to brush their teeth twice a day for two minutes each time, using fluoride toothpaste. Show them how to brush all surfaces of their teeth and how to use floss to clean between their teeth.
  • Healthy eating habits: A healthy diet is important for maintaining good oral health. Encourage your child to eat a balanced diet with plenty of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. Limit sugary and acidic foods and drinks, which can contribute to tooth decay.
  • Regular dental check-ups: Regular dental check-ups are essential for maintaining good oral health. Make sure your child sees a dentist at least once every six months for a check-up and cleaning. This can help identify any issues early on and prevent them from becoming more serious problems.

Within our Child Smile service, we’ll also help teach your child best oral health practices first hand so they have the tools and understanding to build on these at home. We’ll educate both you and your child together, giving easy-to-follow, practice steps that can be implemented into your everyday routine.

By following these tips and our professional oral health advice, we can work together to install good oral health practices into your child from a young age, thus reducing the risk of dental problems occurring later down the line.
